Hotspot 1: Bon Bini, Welcome!

Welcome to Parera, the Navy Base on Curaçao! The island of Curaçao is not large, but the Caribbean Sea around it, is! The Netherlands must protect its coastal waters. Why? Even though Curaçao is 7500 kilometers away from the Netherlands, it is still a part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Royal Netherlands Navy ensures safety at sea.Together with the coast guard, the navy rescues people from the sea. They intercept drug smugglers with helicopters and ships. And the navy helps during and after natural disasters, such as hurricanes. The headquarters is the naval base Parera.
This is located near Willemstad, the capital of Curaçao. Here, all information about smugglers in the Caribbean Sea is gathered, and plans are made to stop this scum. It is the home base of various navy ships. The coast guard can also be found here.
